1. Who is responsible for protecting your personal data
2. What personal data is collected
All of our activities are based on strict ethical principles and we are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits our website and our (mobile) applications. Therefore, the way we collect and store information depends on how our website and its related services are used.
2.1 Data collected through interaction with us
Several technologies are used in our website and (mobile) applications to improve them, make them easier to use, more effective and more secure. These technologies may entail the automatic collection of data, both by ourselves and by third parties on our behalf. Cookies, flash cookies and web analytics are examples of these types of technologies.
2.1.1 Browsing data (clickstream)
When visiting our websites, data is sent from your browser to our server. This data allows us to optimise our services and improve your experience on our websites and applications. This data is collected and stored automatically by us or by third parties on our behalf. In particular, this data may include the following:
_ the visitor’s IP address
_ the time and date of the visit
_ the referrer URL (the site the visitor came from)
_ the pages visited on our website
_ information about the browser used (type and version of browser, operating system, etc.).

Then there are functionality cookies, which allow you to save your shopping basket, create a wish list and save your shipping information for a faster checkout process. We use performance cookies to improve our website. We also like to show you relevant offers. We collect browsing data to manage this. Interaction cookies allow you to interact with social media or send comments. Targeted cookies. These cookies collect your preferences to show you relevant adverts outside BH Bikes sites. Below there is a more detailed summary of the types of cookies that we use:

FUNCTIONALITY COOKIES: these allow us to provide you with an even more satisfying customer experience. These cookies help you to save and remember your shopping basket and create a wish list.
PERFORMANCE COOKIES: these help us to understand the buying behaviour of our visitors. This allows us to continue improving our website to make shopping easier and more enjoyable for you.
INTERACTION COOKIES: these are used to allow you to express your opinion. We love finding out what you think about our products, our website and about us in general. These cookies will allow you to express whether or not you like or recommend us on social media and chat with our service operators. But you can also advise our other (potential) customers by rating and assessing our products.
TARGETED COOKIES: these will remember your product and shopping preferences. We believe that relevance is essential for advertising. These cookies allow us share your preferences with our advertisers. So, for example, when you are browsing Google, the advert you see may better suit your preferences.
Finally…what if you do not like cookies?

5. Your rights
If you provide us with your personal data through our websites or other channels, this is done completely voluntarily. If you choose not to provide the requested information, you will not be able to access certain customer benefits. In some cases, only people who have provided us with the necessary personal data will be able to order products, use certain services and take advantage of other kinds of activities and offers available on our website and (mobile) application. 6. Information security and data integrity
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against any accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, unauthorised use, disclosure or access, especially when the processing involves data transmission over networks, or any other unlawful form of processing or improper use.
7. Protection of children’s personal data
Protecting children’s personal data is extremely important. BH Bikes believes that it is responsible for protecting the privacy of children and, consequently, it does not intend to collect data from children under the age of 18. We encourage parents and other caregivers to browser the internet together with their children and enjoy the internet responsibly.
If a child under the age of 18 tries to register and make a purchase, the parents’/caregivers’ consent will be requested to confirm this process. The data provided and collected about the child during the course of their visit (for example, by cookies) may be used as described above.
Therefore, we ask parents and other caregivers to monitor and supervise their children’s use of the internet so that we can protect them.
8. Social media
Our website and (mobile) applications provide social media connectors to several social media sites. When you choose to interact with a social media site, your activity on our website or through our (mobile) applications will also be disclosed to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
If you have logged into one of these social media sites while you are visiting our website or (mobile) applications, the social media site may add that information to your profile. If you interact with one of the social media connectors, that information will be transferred to the social media site. If you don’t want that data transfer to take place, log out of your social media account before visiting our websites or (mobile) applications.
We have no power to prevent this collection and transfer of data via social media connectors. Read the privacy policies of those social media sites for detailed information about the collection and transfer of personal data, your rights and how to configure your privacy settings appropriately.

9. Geolocation services
We offer location services in some of our (mobile) applications, e.g. Google Maps and Bing Maps. If you use these (mobile) applications, they may receive information about your actual location (e.g. using GPS signals sent by your mobile device) or information that can be used to determine your approximate location. You can generally enable or disable the location services on your device or in your browser’s settings.
We use the Google Maps or Bing Maps service to help you to find the nearest BH Bikes store. To facilitate this process, we load an image of Google Maps or Bing Maps and we store the route data and the map image on our server.

10. Retargeting technologies
Our website and (mobile) application use online retargeting technology. This allows us to show our visitors – who were interested in our store and our products – our advertisements on our partners’ websites. We believe that displaying personalised advertising, based on the user’s interests, is more beneficial for our customers than advertisements with no personal connection to them.
Furthermore, we work with other companies that use tracking technologies to display online advertisements on our behalf. These companies may collect information about your visits to our website or (mobile) applications and your interactions with the messages that we send, including advertising.
We do not use this technology to store personal data about you and our use of retargeting technology complies with the applicable data protection requirements.
